The Dangers of Viral Misinformation Part 3

Now, this last segment is directed towards the church, specifically, and those who are leaning towards a socialistic society.  Warning, I am very passionate about this subject so you are about to hear some very strong opinions.  But the alternative is too scary.  I must speak!

We all saw and experienced recently what a socialist society would actually look like. The government recently shut down the entire country due to COVID. So many were completely dependent on the government for their income. The lucky few were able to remain independent. It was a horrible feeling and led to many social and emotional problems. Our churches were shut down and now only able to open with mask and number restrictions. Thankfully our president believes in capitalism and reopened as soon as he could. We as Christians will not have all our current freedoms of religion under a socialistic government.

Government is not the gospel, it is not Christ. It does not save people or transform their lives for the better. We need the freedom to make our own choices and let the church bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. If we have no rich, then the church has no money to reach the poor. Do not be fooled into thinking more government is Godly. That takes you down a dangerous path.

If you think that a socialist government will support Christianity or the name of Jesus then you are a fool. We know exactly the opposite is true. It is becoming a society in which, when we speak biblical truth, we are labeled bigots and racists. That would only get worse in a socialistic society. I call for freedom to let Christ transform lives, not to let the government mandate them.

I love this country. I love that hard work is rewarded. You cannot mandate good decisions. If someone works hard and makes good choices, then why should they not prosper and then give generously to the church? Equal pay for all does not automatically mean equality.  So many other factors play into this. If you believe in this, then going to college and working hard to try to provide for your family was all in vain. There is no, “getting a good education to get a good job.” You will not be able to better yourself or your family if we are a socialist country.  We will all be the same.

If I came to your house and took all your things, you would feel violated. You would want justice! That’s what will happen, metaphorically, in a socialist society with our freedoms and our choices. You will no longer have the freedom to “be all you can be.” It will become, “be who the government tells you to be.” I want to continue to live in a free America, where we can each decide our own path and work hard and get rewarded and spread the gospel uninhibited. If you want socialism, you better do your homework and understand exactly what you would be getting. You may not like Trump as a person, but as a President, he has given the church more freedoms and supported our causes more than any president in my lifetime.

Do you remember how Hobby Lobby was about to shut down because the Obama administration was forcing them to do things that didn’t think were right. Thankfully, we had a change in regime and that was avoided. But the freedom to do what you think is right will be taken in a socialist society. Trump had prayers in the Oval Office. You may say, “well, that was all show.” And yes, that may be true but what other recent president would even consider doing that? He may be tactless, but his administration is not. His track record of giving back freedoms that were taken under the Obama administration is enough for me. He is not Christ but you better believe that Biden isn’t either. I implore you to think logically and not emotionally about this election.

Now, please do not misunderstand me. I know full well that unchecked capitalism leads to greed and corruption.  I am not suggesting that.  Nor am I saying government is bad.  Without government, we have anarchy.  This is one of the reasons that makes America's democracy so great.  There is a system of checks and balances in place where both sides share the power and we are protected from either anarchy or communism.  But a Socialistic government is no longer a democracy, make no mistake about that.

Sing it with me! "And I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the men (and women ;0) who died and gave that right to me.  And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.  Cause there ain't no doubt, I love this land! God bless the USA!!!!

Please read Proverbs 10

*amendment 11/21
If you think socialism is compassion, you don’t know what socialism really is. Please do your history. Socialism is giving up all of your individual rights to the government, under the lie of “equality.” Well equality isn’t fair, working hard and succeeding is fair. Personal responsibility is fair. Freedom to make my own choices is fair. Compassion can not be forced! It has to be freely given. In America we are the most generous county because we are the richest. If we were socialist we would have anything to give. If you think that the government would give you freedom to worship then you are deluded. Do your homework and stop believing these lies. Your children’s livelihoods are at steak.

The Dangers of Viral Misinformation Part 1

Do you remember doing research papers in school?  One of the first things they taught us was to check our sources.  Just because you read it doesn’t make it true.  My mother taught me a valuable lesson early on in my life.  She would reward us with a dime every time we saw an ad on TV promising something if we purchased that product.  For example, If I buy those shoes, I’ll run faster and have more friends, ect. You get the picture, just because something is said online or on TV doesn’t mean it the truth or more accurately, the whole truth.  Why have we lost this common sense proverb in our current information overloaded society? We have endless information at our fingertips, constantly.  News travels faster than is ever has before in the history of Mankind.  But with this speed comes inaccuracy.  Sources don’t take the time to fact check as was common practice in days gone by.  It’s become, "report first, ask questions later." Many thin...

Throwing Dice and Planning Steps

“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our Steps.” Proverbs 16:9 “We may throw the dice, but the Lord determines how they fall.” Proverbs 16:33 Many times in my life I have learned this lesson. There is this dance between God and us.  The dance of doing what we can do and waiting on God for what only He can do.  This is part of living the Christian life and something we encounter many times in our lives.  I believe that God’s will is an umbrella not a ledge.  If you are seeking God and following scripture then most of the decisions you make and steps you take will be in God’s will for your life.  There may be times when the way is very clear or you feel a strong redirecting with one particular decision but most decisions are a choice between 2 good options and either one will be in God’s will.  When I was growing up, I viewed His will as a ledge.  Very narrow and if you make one wrong choice you are out of His’ will.  Pouring over scrip...
