There is this dance between God and us. The dance of doing what we can do and waiting on God for what only He can do. This is part of living the Christian life and something we encounter many times in our lives. I believe that God’s will is an umbrella not a ledge. If you are seeking God and following scripture then most of the decisions you make and steps you take will be in God’s will for your life. There may be times when the way is very clear or you feel a strong redirecting with one particular decision but most decisions are a choice between 2 good options and either one will be in God’s will.
